Crockpot Sprite Chicken
Normally, I wouldn’t trust my chicken being flavored by sodas, but after the rave reviews this sprite chicken got I figured it was definitely worth a shot. Plus, with all of the sprite coupons I have I can spare a bit to try this interesting recipe. Heck, maybe I will even try the Coca Cola Pot Roast next.
For this recipe you just need a few simple ingredients. So grab the grocery list and your sprite coupons and make sure to pick up these ingredients.
4 chicken breasts halves on bone, skinned
1 cup packed brown sugar
2/3 cup vinegar
1/4 cup Sprite
2-3 tablespoons minced garlic
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon pepper
Preparing this recipe is a very simple one but it takes a lot of time to cook, so make sure you prepare it early in the day for dinner! To start cooking all you have to do is toss in all of the ingredients into your Crockpot and give it a mix every now and then so the flavor is evenly distributed. If your chicken was frozen when you started this recipe you should cook it for about seven hours, but check it at 6, on a low flame. Though some speculate that it could be dangerous using a frozen chicken. If you use a thawed piece make sure to adjust the cooking time to about 4 to 5 hours instead.
Regardless, when I tasted this chicken I was pleasantly surprised it had a mixture of flavors, and although it did not taste like sprite, the sprite soda did give the chicken an extra zing to it. So grab your sprite coupons and try this one out!
